If you are new to scholarly publishing, you probably have a lot of questions that go beyond how to submit your manuscript and how to set out your responses to reviewers. What should I do if I disagree with a reviewer’s feedback? What should I do if my paper is rejected? What happens when there are multiple authors on a paper? In this episode, Sin Wang Chong and Shannon Mason discuss the answers to some of the questions most commonly asked by early career researchers about the more hidden aspects of the peer review process. They provide insights from their experiences navigating the peer review process as early career researchers, resulting in the publication of a combined 54 peer-reviewed articles (and countless rejections!).

Sin Wang and Shannon were both the inaugural winners of the Reviewer of the Year 2020 for the Higher Education Research & Development journal. They are currently working together on two studies aimed at demystifying the peer review process for early career and established researchers, and have recently started discussing issues of peer review on Twitter @scholarly_Peers.
