This interactive, practical session will look at how to effectively support young people with a range of differing abilities to access their local outdoor spaces. It will be framed around a published practitioners’ guide to supporting young people identified as having special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEN/D) to discover the outdoors. This workshop is suitable for all – for those who want an introduction and also for experienced practitioners, teachers and researchers. We will aim to meet individual needs, offer a range of practical activities, allow space for reflection and include time for conversations to share experiences and knowledge within the room. To aid this process, please come with a question or story to
share based on your own experiences of either being outdoors, or supporting someone else to be outdoors.
